Ready for the Next Chapter: Guangda Aviation Service Celebrates 30 Years

On June 10, 2026, a quiet coastal city in eastern China hosted a reunion three decades in the making. Weihai - where it all began - became the backdrop for Shandong Guangda Aviation Service’s 30th anniversary celebration.
At 1:58 p.m., teams from Guangda offices across the country logged in for a live broadcast. What followed was not just a corporate event - it was a homecoming, a look back at grit, and a launchpad for the next thirty years.
The event opened with two ancient Chinese maxims displayed on screen: "To reach the broad(Guang) and great(Da), one must attend to the subtle and minute" (from The Doctrine of the Mean), and "The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting; victory belongs to those who are united in purpose" (from The Art of War). As images flickered across the screen, the story of Guangda began to unfold.
Gilded Decades, Remembrance at 30
The Start
Thirty years ago, a 26-year-old dreamer lit the first beacon in the coastal city of Weihai, driven by a single mission: to serve the civil aviation industry in China, where, at that time, the ground support equipment sector was still in its infancy. Few manufacturers - domestic or foreign - had repair offices in China, and when GSE broke down, getting aircraft back in the air quickly was a real challenge.
On June 10, 1996, Weihai Guangda Airport Equipment Maintenance Service Co., Ltd. was born with a registered capital of just 300,000 yuan. Its purpose was to fill a gap in the industry, by supporting China's aviation sector. From the very first successful repair of a ground power unit to the launch of its first division, Guangda lit the spark that would eventually grow into an industry-wide flame.
Expansion and Growth
In 2003, Guangda set up its first outpost - the Shanghai Division.
Two years later, in 2005, the Hongqiao Division was established, marking the beginning of a broader expansion.
In 2007, Guangda moved to a new 10,000-square-metre facility at Yangting Industrial Park: more than just a change of address, it was a major leap in capabilities. That same year, annual revenue exceeded 10 million yuan for the first time.
In 2008, the Kunming Division opened. That year also saw the introduction of a maintenance archive system - a system that created a dedicated maintenance file for every vehicle and machine maintained, turning frontline experience into documented procedures and keeping every piece of equipment a fully traceable service records.
Over the following years, divisions in Harbin, Wuhan, Qingdao, Xi'an, and Beijing were established, pushing the service network deeper into the country. Additional divisions soon followed at Beijing Nanyuan Airport and in Hangzhou, further strengthening the presence in northern and eastern China.
The year 2014 was a landmark: five new divisions launched in Xinjiang, Guiyang, Zhengzhou, Taiyuan, and Shenyang, extending the network from major cities to remote regions. Revenue broke through 50 million yuan - a figure that reflected the momentum of growth and the countless days and nights of hard work behind it.
From a modest start in one city, Guangda has expanded step by step across China, responding to every service need of the domestic industry, and building a strategic network that stretches from east to west and north to south - a true strategic leap forward.
From Accumulation to Breakthrough
In 2015, Guangda began a 7-year leap forward driven by capital empowerment. It was renamed "Shandong Guangda Aviation Ground Service Co., Ltd." and successfully listed on the NEEQ, shifting from a purely operation-focused business to one powered by both industry and capital. At the same time, establishment of subsidiaries, divisions, and joint ventures was accelarated to boost local service capabilities. Joint ventures with airports allowed both parties to deeply integrate resources and create value together. The Changchun Division, Lanzhou Division, and Chongqing Qizheng - the latter as a joint venture - were established one after another.
In 2016, the trade union was set up - a small but meaningful step that told every employee: you belong here. That same year, ISO9001 certification came through, a quiet validation of the standard built all along. The network grew with new additions - Kunming Dongchen, Nanjing, and Tianjin - three more anchors in a rapidly expanding footprint.
Then came 2017. That was the year it all paid off. Revenue crossed 100 million yuan for the first time - a number that felt almost unreal to the people who had spent years on the road, answering calls at all hours, fixing things that others couldn't. It wasn't luck. It was thousands of small moments - late nights, early mornings, quick decisions, steady hands. The network was no longer just growing; it was gathering speed, and everyone could feel it.
2018 brought a wave of new openings - the Chengdu Division, Shanghai Electro-mechanical Division, Hohhot, Guangzhou, Haikou, and Ningbo divisions, alongside a joint venture Nanning Jinshi. The reach now stretched from the Southwest to the southern coast, and from the coast deep into the interior. It was a year of relentless momentum - one new hub after another, each one bringing the team closer to the airports and airlines that depended on them.
In 2020, the Hefei Division came online, followed by the divisions in Chengdu Tianfu International Airport and in Xizang Autonomous Region. With these additions, the network now covered four key regions - Northwest, Central, North, and South China. Coordination became smoother and more responsive across all hubs. No more scattered efforts: decision-making became faster and more coordinated. Resources moved where they were needed, and the whole network started running like a single, connected system.
In 2021, the Dalian Division came online, and a joint venture was established in Yantai Airport. That year, revenue doubled again, surpassing 200 million yuan - a clear sign that the new structure was delivering results. After seven years of steady growth, the scattered dots on the map had finally become a unified, nationwide service network, quietly supporting every takeoff, every day.
Back to the Roots
In 2022, Guangda delisted from the NEEQ and underwent an equity restructuring, changing its name to Shandong Guangda Aviation Service Co., Ltd. The company returned to the Weihai Guangtai Group, bringing its after-sales teams into a unified management structure with consistent service standards. The move positioned Guangda to deliver full-life support for Guangtai ground service equipment worldwide.
In 2023, Guangda received the 5-Star NECAS Certification for National Commodity After-Service Conformity - a national recognition of service quality. Charitable contributions followed, supporting the Huancui District Charity Federation in Weihai and the Beijing Ling Feng Foundation in support of their Volunteer Doctor initiatives. Meanwhile, the Sanya Division opened, giving the network a presence in the tropical south.
In 2024, maintenance teams went overseas, visiting 20 countries and working on 16 different product types - a real stretch for a team more accustomed to domestic airports. Back home, a new hydraulic pipeline workshop opened, producing hoses and pipes under one roof. A dedicated boarding bridge team also came together, taking the operation from ground service into air-side infrastructure as well.
In 2025, a service station opened in Huai'an, and a new division followed in Zhuhai - two more anchors in a network that kept reaching further south. The first Safety Day was held, a quiet reminder that none of this works without looking out for one another. After-sales service for Beijing Zhongzhuo also came under Guangda's care, forming new ties and fresh energy across the business. By year end, revenue reached 300 million yuan, thirty times the 10 million mark from two decades ago, a climb made possible by steady hands and long days.
In 2026, a partnership with Daimler Trucks (China) was formalized at an authorization ceremony, marking another step into the international arena. Guangda also facilitated a maintenance service collaboration between Weihai Guangtai and ST Engineering from Singapore. Hubei Tianrui Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. was established, giving the network a new anchor in Central China. Five years of hard work have made difference. Guangda has integrated, diversified, and gone global, standing ready for the next thirty years.
Glorious Moments, Shining at 30
They came young, full of fire.
They stayed through the years, through the early mornings and late nights.
Now their hair is gray, but their eyes still hold the same light.
The tools changed. The places grew. But the care never did.
Every repair, every call, every landing made safe – that was the work of steady hands and quiet hearts.

Five‑Year Strategic Plan
The plan is built around the Weihai Guangtai strategic platform. Four major service networks will be established: ground support equipment, special vehicles, firefighting, and international business. These networks will form a full-stop service system that covers all of China and reaches global markets. The goal is to become a leading integrated aviation ground service provider, recognized both at home and abroad.

Executive Director's Speech: A Steadfast Commitment
The video ended, and Executive Director Li Bo took the stage. His message was simple: gratitude. He thanked the employees who had given their time and energy, the families who had supported them, and the partners and Weihai Guangtai who had helped along the way. No long speeches, just honest words.

Time itself has given the answer. Thirty years of dedication built this journey. Hard work and perseverance saw them through all seasons. Many had grown gray in service, and their contributions became their honor. An awards ceremony was held to recognize those who had made a difference.

Chairman's Speech – Words from the Founder
When the applause faded, the lights dimmed and a video began. It told the story of Mr Li Wenxuan's thirty-year journey: one path, one lifetime, one commitment.

The film lasted only ten minutes. It could not capture every hardship, but the look in his eyes said enough.
After the video, Mr Yu Changyou, the GM, presented a gift to Mr Li Wenxuan on behalf of all employees: a custom-made wooden map showing every Guangda division across China.

The map had been designed by Chairman Li himself, and the Guangda team had spent thirty years realizing it. Each division marked on it was proof of the journey from Weihai to the whole China. The map measured 50 by 60 centimetres – a fitting number for thirty years of growth, symbolizing reach across the land and beyond. It held the hard work and pride of the Guangda team, and it also pointed toward the broader horizons of the next thirty years.
The map was a tribute to the past, but it also pointed toward the future. At that moment, the team's attention turned from the map to the world beyond. The global service network was officially launched.
The plan is in place. The course is set.
Guangda is now sailing at full speed.
The moment the global service network map was lit, the sweetness of thirty years arrived as well – in the form of a large cake, thoughtfully prepared by the company canteen.
As the taste of the cake still lingered, colleagues from across China and from overseas sent their most heartfelt birthday wishes.
Mr. Li Guangtai, founder and Honorary Chairman of Weihai Guangtai, sent a video message. He praised Guangda's achievements over three decades, spoke of the hardships and perseverance along the way, and commended the team's spirit. He ended with these words: "Guangda is not only China's Guangda; it is the world's Guangda." The applause that followed was long and loud - a tribute to the founder, a recognition of shared effort, and a powerful response to the vision of a global Guangda. Many in the hall were moved to tears.
